Ski resort Galtür in Tyrol

Vacations in the alpine ski resort Galtür features some exciting events to banish those winter blues – from November to May.

90 per cent of the Silvretta-Arena skiing region (Ischgl/Samnaun) in Tyrol is at an altitude between 2000 m and 2872 m. There is guaranteed snow here, to ensure flawless holiday skiing and winter sports from the end of November until the start of May.

Galtür and Ischgl have optimum piste conditions and powder skiing...

Out-and-out fun on skis in the Silvretta-Arena.

Skiing, boarding, carving, telemarking, cross-country skiing, tobogganing –Galtür in Tyrol has the ideal conditions for winter sports of all types.

The Silvretta Ski Arena region has three gondola lifts and two cablecars, 21 chairlifts and 16 draglifts - making it one of the largest skiing regions in the Austrian Alps. The entire region of Silvretta is at an altitude above 1400 metres. It is possible to ski down into the valley (1400 m) even on sunny spring days because of the prolific snow conditions.

Galtür’s slopes are also a paradise for carvers: descents that seem to be just made for their broad, elegant turns. There’s a Boarders’ Paradise with everything a snowboard fan could wish for, and telemarking exerts a new attraction as well... carve through the snow with your outside knee forward and your inside knee bent inwards to make something special out of a reinvented traditional technique.
