Cross-country skiing is a dynamic challenge for endurance and wellness sporting enthusiasts.
But this Nordic sport is also ideal for beginners who aren’t out for cross-country endurance, but just want to “glide rather than zoom”.
Galtür is right on target with its cross-country trails. The course in Galtür covers a total of 16 kilometres of prepared and signposted trails. The Western Trail is particularly recommended – it is a circuit 6.6 km in length – running from Galtür to the end of the valley beyond Wirl and back. The stunning mountain views are included.

Please note that you use the cross-country trails at your own risk, and that use of the trails is forbidden under all circumstances in the event of avalanche hazard, as indicated by signs.
Cross-country trail plans are available from the tourist office.
