Winter activities

Galtür offers almost endless possibilities!

With snowcats converted to mobile ski lifts, we take you from Galtuer's ski area, past the Zeinisjoch to the Kops reservoir, the starting point for an entertaining and varying forest downhill with possible deep powder snow side trips down to the Montafon village Partenen. The Vermuntbahn takes skiers at a leisurely pace up to 1,730 m. Minibuses take the escursionists on a tunnel route up to the Bielerhoehe. In fair weather, you can see the highest peaks of the Silvretta, also the Piz Buin. After a traditional stop for a snack you go back to Wirl in a quick ride on your skis.

Night skiing

Every Wednesday at 7.30 pm a special event takes place, which may seem a bit strange for those who are in Galtuer for the first time. At a sudden it becomes bright as day. Why? It is the glistening light of the Birkhahnbahn that turns the night into day – until 10.30 pm!

Back-country skiing

SILVRETTA with ski and ascension skins - it is and remains a classic

From high winter's powder snow to the firn festivals of spring, from innocent rambling to full-blown, chellanging high tours – there are not many regions in the East Alps that are able to keep up with the lavish variety of the Silvretta!

Winter hiking and snowshoeing

Winter hiking and snowshoeing

Enjoy the wonderfully snow-covered mountains in and around Galtuer!  Romantic winter walking trails towards the Mathon into the Jamtal to the Zeinisjoch or to the Bielerhoehe are possible in Galtuer. Every year, well-prepared and well marked walking trails are on offer.

Ice-Skating in Galtuer in Tyrol

The ice-skating rink in Galtuer is not only for locals a great highlight. Our guests value the sheet of ice as an amusing alternative to skiing. Here they can skate lap after lap. You don't have to bring your own skates, of course - the skate rental directly at the skating-rink has the fitting models.

Ice-Stick Shooting in Galtuer

One of the oldest and easiest ice sports at all, ice-stick shooting is ideal for chilling in good company. What has started as wild shooting in nature, is now striving for being accepted into the circle of Olympic disciplines.
