Why "Weiberhimml"?

In the time when a "Hangert" (visit to the beloved ones in the neighbouring village) still took a day's journey, the girls usually had to work for their daily bread in the stables and on the fields!

In Galtür there was only few crop - due to the harsh climate - so the hard work on the fields was done by boys and men.

If a girl married a man from Galtür, she came to the "Weiberhimml" (womens heaven).
